The Fillmore Charlotte was honored to host Fantasia Taylor's powerful fundraiser for the Black Lives Matter movement on their stage. Fantasia’s vision was for a live-streamed performance that would raise funds for amplifying social justice causes all over the world. She knew she needed a world-class venue with state-of-the-art lighting, sound and tech that could deliver an immersive virtual event to thousands of passionate fans. The challenge was not only ensuring her voice was heard during these socially distant times, but also putting together a performance quickly that would benefit the movement now.
“When we were approached by Fantasia’s team, we knew that this project was bigger than the music, and we jumped at the chance to work with such a talented artist for such an amazing cause,” said Corinna Boulware, The Fillmore Charlotte’s Director of Sales.
With just two days to plan, The Fillmore Charlotte team started collaborating with vendors and crew immediately. Our experience in staging events for the world’s most talented performers proved critical as we created a concise timeline for equipment and staff load-in, setup and rehearsal. Understanding Fantasia’s vision and putting her team in the best position to succeed was our primary focus.
Through careful planning and coordination, The Fillmore Charlotte set the stage for Fantasia to deliver a stunning performance that reached over 12,000 viewers and raised well over $100,000 - 100% of which went to families affected by racism in the United States.
